                                                                    FOOD

                                                                        The first 2 years of life is considered a critical window for a child’s
                                                                    optimal growth and development. Any damage  caused  by stunting or
                                                                    chronic malnutrition during this period is irreversible.
                                                                        To address this issue, the provincial government launched the “Bukas
                                                                    na Pangarap and Kusina ni Juan Feeding Programs”. This program seeks
                                                                    to address malnutrition of the infants of Tarlac. Currently, a total of 1600
                                                                    beneficiaries are fed daily for a period of 10 months.
                                                                        To ensure food security, the provincial government distributed Php
                                                                    124  million  for  irrigation  equipment,  Php  16,598,000  for  agricultural
                                                                    machineries,  and  Php 600,000  for  post-harvest  facilities. For  the
                                                                    Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), a total of Php 400 million
                                                                    was appropriated for the distribution of equipment ensuring a higher yield
                                                                    of production and increase in harvest.

        LIVELIHOOD
