The Youngest Liga President of Caloocan
Jose Lorenzo T. Almeda, known as “Kuya Lanz” to his constituents, has consistently shown interest in leadership and
public service, even at a young age. He graduated B.A. Political Science in De La Salle University and took up the course,
“IEXCELL: Introduction to Excellence in Local Legislation” under the Center for Local and Regional Governance-National
College of Public Administration and Governance-University of the Philippines (UP-NCPAG).
A son to Lourdes Torres and Antonio Mariano “Nani”
Almeda, he followed through his father’s footsteps in 2018,
where he was first elected as chairman of Barangay 43 and
further chosen as the President of Liga ng mga Barangay,
which in turn instated him as a City Councilor.
On October 2018, Councilor Lanz Almeda was elected as
National Auditor of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas
(The League of Barangays in the Philippines), comprised of
42,000-member barangays.
