HEALTH
A city’s ability to provide quality health services to its people
is one of the keys to its success. So Len ensures that her
leadership also focuses on keeping her constituents healthy.

Under Alagang LEN is the Department of Health’s Medical
Assistance Program (DOH-MAP), a program aimed at
providing medical assistance to patients seeking consultation,
rehabilitation, examination or otherwise confined in government
hospitals. Total medical assistance provided has already reached
P118 million. There were 189 patients (Fiscal Year 2017), 286
patients (Fiscal Year 2018), and 178 patients (Fiscal Year 2019,
late release of budget) that benefited from this project.
ENVIRONmENT
The importance of sustainable management of resources is also
one of the highlights of her two terms as District Representative.

Through Luntiang Ekonomiya Natin (LEN), a partnership with
the City Agriculture Office, she zoomed in on the best practices
on environmental protection and sustainability. The program’s
goal was to instill in the minds of the youth (particularly Grade
VI students in the city) the importance of urban farming and
protecting the environment by using recyclable materials as
pots among others. Soon, the said program will be implemented
at the barangay level.
Through Len’s partnerships with the Department of Health,
Department of Budget and Management, Local Government Len’s Biñan Congressional District Office also partnered with
Unit of Biñan, and Ospital ng Biñan, 2,341 Biñanenses were the Department of Energy (DOE), who has already turned over
given medical or hospital assistance in 2019. the 1st batch of over 40 e-trikes, several of which will be used
by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Biñan.
Furthermore, Alagang LEN collaborated with the Department
of Social Welfare and Development for financial assistance
projects to assist indigent Biñanenses so they can immediately
avail of needed prescription medications and get treatment
from non-DOH-accredited medical facilities. In 2019, a total of
P5.1 million was given as financial aid to 136 patients that were
endorsed to DSWD’s regional office.

Len would be the first to admit she is her father’s daughter.
She is the first daughter of former Biñan Mayor Arthur Alonte
and wife Fe. She might have followed her dad’s footsteps, but
through the years, Len has remarkably carved her own path
and exceptionally proven she is her own person.

Her charm and charisma endear her more and more to her
people. Despite the setbacks and challenges of the positions
she’s held, Len has always remained a picture of understated
grace and optimism. In her more than two decades serving
her beloved Biñanenses, there is no denying that Len Alonte-
Naguiat has indeed become one of the gems of public service.
