Remigio Bayudan Medrano is the first Engineer with various business affiliations to be elected Mayor in the Municipality of Sarrat,
Ilocos Norte in May 2016. He succeeds a long line of Lawyers and Businessmen who became mayors in the past. The rich historical
heritage of Sarrat has been carved across the nation, being known as the birthplace of President Ferdinand Marcos and home to
prominent leaders in the country. Mayor Medrano came back to his hometown Sarrat and fulfilled the calling of public service. He was
first elected as Vice Mayor in 2010, accomplishing a volume of noteworthy legislations for Sarrat, more than what was accomplished
among the past administrations combined. He brings home his visions and expertise to Sarrat through selfless public service.

Inspired by his humble parents, a farmer and housekeeper, he
has been witness to the needs of rural life at a young age. This
leader has been gifted with wisdom as a young learner being the
top of his class (valedictorian) in elementary and secondary. He
pursued his college education at Mapua Institute of Technology,
now Mapua University, finishing BS Mechanical Engineering
in 1982. He also pursued short courses in Entrepreneurship at
Asian Institute of Management and later in Agricultural Executive
Program Course at University of Asia & the Pacific. As an
Engineer/Businessman, he was involved in notable projects (i.e.
Changi Airport in Singapore, Central Bank buildings, Hotels,
Malls, Hospitals and various semiconductor clean rooms facilities)
including the first gold LEED certified Zuellig Building in Makati. He
put up his own engineering/construction companies, trading, hotel,
etc. His passion to quality for all things he does brought him various
success in his private life. He is married to Maria Dolores Francia
of Antipolo City and blessed with five equally talented children, all
of whom are young professionals looking to develop the hormones
of their successful parents in the field of entrepreneurship.
